Over one hundred twenty years ago, this congregation was found to provide a group of German immigrants with an opportunity to worship together in their new country.
In an effort to escape the state church in their home country, a small group of German Lutherans purchased a tract of former plantation land in this area, and the foundation of St. Paul's Church gave these settlers and their families a place to preserve their Lutheran heritage and to raise their offspring in the traditions and faith of the Lutheran Church. We believe this congregation exists today to preserve our Lutheran heritage, enabling us to remain strong in the Word, the Confession of Faith, and in the observation of the Sacraments. In word and deed, we are able to witness our faith and offer special services to our fellow man.
